WebP to JPG is what you do when the file has to leave the web. Print shops, email attachments, older photo software and a good number of office tools still treat a .webp as an unknown file, and a JPG sidesteps all of it.
WebP compresses a photograph more efficiently than JPG does, so saying the same thing in the older format takes more room. Expect somewhere between a quarter and a half more weight. Still small enough to attach to a message without a second thought.
If your WebP had see through areas, they come back white. JPG has no way to store a clear pixel and something has to occupy the space. For a photograph this never comes up. For a logo or an icon it matters, and PNG is the target you want instead.
If the image is also going onto a web page, keep both. The WebP is the lighter file for the page and the JPG is the one you hand to people, and neither can be rebuilt from the other without another round of compression.
